Sold Again

"Are you sure she is out?
"Yes, I gave her a double dose of medicine. Oain in the neck. I'm surprised nobody has sent her to the coliseum"
"Because her pretty face is worth gold if you manage to sell her. She's got enough human in her this deal will hopefully go through."
"But to gijinka, they might decide to take us as slaves as well."
"I've dealed with this lot before, they won't if you keep your mouth shut."


The voices were dim in her head. She reconised them but her eyes were so heavy she didn't have the strengh to open them. She knew they came from outside but she couldn't get up. She was just too tired.

"I think she just moved, are you sure you gave her a double dose?" The first voice was Pandora's current owner, a sqaut guy getting up there in the years. "I'm positive." A trembly shady assistent was with him in charge of making sure Pandora stayed out. "Where are they, their late. They've never been late." The sqaut guy was looking around. They were on the far side of Terra Forest, closer to the gijinka border. The guy was planning on selling the hybrid girl to the gijinka hoping to get some profit out of the trouble maker. Now he saw why her last owner had put her to sleep as well when selling her. "Late late late. What's keeping them." he grumbles under his breath waiting for the gijinka slavers to show up

An Absol gijinka pops up from between the trees, looking a bit ruffled and pulling twigs that got stuck in his boots. Two thuggish-looking Bisharp gijinkas, presumably his escort, follow shortly, grumbling something about stupid choice of road. The leader waves to the slavers. "Hey lads, sorry I'm late. I decided to drop by a public house and got a bit delayed by the... show. And the beer. But now I'm here, and I expect good stuff. What have you got this time?" He takes on a business-like expression and walks up to the squat guy.

"There you are sir. This time I managed to get my hands on this lovly lady. Still fresh as well. Hard to find such beauties in such a state so you can imagine the gold she cost." The sqaut man says waving towards the cage where Lotus looked like she was sleeping. "I had to keep turning down offers till we reached the forest so many were wanting her. She'd fetch a high price at a auction but I thought you'd like her." The sqaut man says trying to play up the girl to get a better price

Saver walked up to the cage, leaned as close to the bars as he could and inspected the sleeping girl with suspicion. "Out of all my suppliers, your merchandise is the most prone to running away. It doesn't matter how good a slave is if she's gone, so I'm not paying you any more than market price." After walking a few circles around the cage and rubbing his chin thoughtfully, the potential customer made a gesture to the slaver's assitant. "Wake her up, I want to see that she's not a vegetable or something."

"You see sir, we drugged her so she couldn't go shouting that we were on our way to deal with Gijinka, no offense. She over heard us talking when we were deciding where to sell her. I can assure you she is not a vegetable though and will wake up in a few hours" the sqaut man says having already come up with the lie in case that very issue was brought up. "As a slaver yourself you must know how bad it is for business if people find out your dealing with another country, especially in these fragile times."

Saver nodded understandingly. "Yes, I agree with you. However, it is also quite bad for business to buy mentally dysfunctional slaves at full price. Physically, she's passable, I'll give you that, but I need to make sure her IQ is above room temperature. As a slaver, surely you understand that." He rubbed his chin, then called one of his guards and asked something quietly. After receiving a likewise quet answer, he turned his attention back to his short friend. "There's an inn a ten minutes walk down the road, we could carry her there and wait until the drug wears off. I'll treat you to a drink meanwhile."

The voices were talking again. She could hear them, she tried fighting to wake up but she only managed to barely crack her eyes open. Just a breif fuzzy image of what was going on before her eyes fell shut again. She knew what must be going on, she had to wake up, she had too but it was so hard.


Lotus stirred a bit inside the cage but the movement didn't last long. "Um sir, she moved again." the assistent mumers to his boss. 'Stubborn girl, pain even drugged.' the sqaut man thinks hoping she could behave long enough for the transaction to be completed. "I really wish I could but we have another transaction to complete near the coliseum. Supposed to be a great slave for hard work and it's quite hard a journey trying to get there in just two days. If I don't then I won't be able to check him out before he's taken to a auction" The sqaut man says trying to get this over with

Not noticing the girl's brief awakening, Saver clicked his tongue in resignation. "Very well, I see that you're in a hurry. Buying an unconscious slave is like buying a bag of something without opening the bag to check the contents. Therefore, half price. 700 coins and you can head to your next transaction right now."

"That's ridicalusly low! I could get three times, even four times, that at a auction even if she was asleep." the sqaut man says in outrage to think he'd offer such a low sum. The girl cost him double that buying her in the first place. He could probably even sell her to a battler for the coliseum for more then that. He just figured selling her for her face would fetch him a better price.

Saver didn't back down and continued to barter. He made an insulted expression. "What do you expect for trying to sell a drugged slave? What if she bites my head off when she wakes up? Or what if she doesn't wake up at all? Huh? And don't give me that "sleeping beauty" bullshit. Haul her to the auction if you want, not even the greediest auction goer would pay for a potential vegetable or psycho or retard or who knows what else. 1000 coinsfor your troubles, or I'm leaving." He put his hands on his hips dramatically.

"1500 or that's exactly where she's going. " the sqaut man says seeming rather firm on that. He wanted rid of her but he at least wanted his money back for her. The assistent seemed nervous with all this as it seemed to be getting heated now. He just didn't want to end up a slave himself and was starting to think about looking into another career choice.

Saver gave a sigh of resignation. "Fine, you made your point. 1500 it is. But if her behavior is not to my liking, I'm going to find you and reclaim every penny I overpaid." He pulls three small golden bricks out of the backpack he was carrying, each with the number 500 etched on the surface. "Here." He hands over the money, then gestures his Bisharp henchmen to pick up the cage. "Let's hope we don't meet again, because it wouldn't be for pleasant reasons." With that, he took farewell of his fellow slaver and went down the road, back towards where he came from. His minions carried the cage with the sleeping wares after him. "It's getting dark. We should stop at the inn I mentioned earlier." After haring the approval of his companions, they continued walking down the road in silence.

Finally, she could feel the drug wearing off like a gaint blanket being taken off her mind. It was still a burden to open her eyes and things were still a bit fuzzy when she managed it. What she saw was candlelight dancing on the ceiling which took her a minute to realise it meant she wasn't caged anymore. The collar was gone from her neck too which it took her a minute to remember the sqaut man who had last bought her had taken it off. 'He was going to sell me to a gijinka, that's why he took it off.' she remembered and tried sitting up but her muscles seemed sluggish still

Footsteps and lauchter echoed in the corridor outside, then the door opened and three gijinka walked in, one Absol and two Bisharp, none of them completely sober. "Well, has she woken up yet?" One of the bisharo asked. The second waved his hand. "Nah, still lazing around. Look at her, what is she, a queen? Got her own bed and everything." Saver came closer to the bed and squinted at the girl lying on it. "Guys, she's awake. Almost, at least." He poked he in the side with his finger. "Can you stand up? I hope I didn't pay fora cripple. Damn, I hate doing business with that wanker. His girls are always broken in some aspect" He remembered the squint slaver and frowned.

Lotus was annoyed with the poking but the drug hadn't completely worn off. She knew until it was she didn't have a chance of trying to escape. She realised the guy was asking if she could stand. That was questionable while she was still partiacaly under the drug but prehaps if she made him happy he's leave her alone long enough for it to finish wareing off. It was a annoying process, getting up, her muscles didn't want to work right like she was the one who was drunk but she manages to make it to her feet, granted looking like she could fall over any second which she probably would.

Seeing how wobbly she is, Saver put his arm around her shoulder and leaned her against his chest. "C'mon, stand up straight, you're not even drunk yet... and your hair smells nice." One of the Bisharps gave a short laugh. "Well, her legs are working, that's reassuring." Saver smirked. "We're not sure about that yet. I still haven't seen her run or dance, two things that a good slave must be able to do." The second Bisharp aproached a minibar in the corner of the room, and made a confused expression. "Huh? No beer?" Saver waved his hand at him. "There's no beer in minibars. Here, pur a glass of vodka and bring it over here. We're going to do an emergency reanimation." After getting the vodka, he suddenly pressed the glass against the girl's mouth. "Hah! Drink up, alcohol is the best way to dissolve calming drugs. You'll be dancing on your hands in no time."

Lotus wasn't so sure about the glass but he wasn't giving her much of a choice. She opens her mouth a bit but is soon coughing and sputtering when the burning liquid goes down her throat. Though he was right about it chasing off the last effects of the drugs even if it was the shock that did it. One thing she knew was she didn't want anymore of that stuff poured down her throat

Saver puts the glass on the table and pats her on the back. "See, it worked. Nobody can be wobbly after a good glass. You didn't drink enough for the OTHER kind of wobbliness, so this should be perfect." His words were accompanied by the Bisharps' approving laughter. Saver sudddenly put on a more serious tone. "Well, playtime's over for now. What's your name?" Still holding her to his chest, he carefully observed the girl, deciding to measure her overall intelligence by seeing how she answers questions.

"They called me Lotus but they named me Pandora." Lotus says figuring she might as well answer. She still needed a minute to get her head back on straight so to speak. This guy was different then her last 'masters', she could tell that much. She was also wondering why he was holding her so close, it was kindv'e annoying but she was hiding that for now

Saver paused in thought for a moment. "Pandora, huh? Nice analogy. Pretty on the outside, full of horrors on the inside. I knew that bastard would sell me something like this." His expression darkened for a moment, but then brightened again. "But, the adventure will be worth the money." One of the Bisharps snorted. "Worth the money, you say? You stole that gold from some dude we met on the way here..." Saver clicked his tongue with content. "Yes, it feels so good to spend someone else's hard-earned cash, doesn't it?" He turned his attention back to the girl he was holding close. "Well, you should be quite awake by now. Tell me a bit about yourself, since your seller didn't bother."

"I can show you easier then I can tell you." Lotus says looking at him from under her lashs knowing guys normaly loved those doe eyes girls could make. But this girl wasn't as helpless. 'Night Shade' she mummers barely any sound behind it but it turns everything into a gaint nightmare for all of them. Her secret was she looked human but she was a hybrid and a dangerous one

Saver sees the contents of the room warmp themselves before him, and makes a dramatic facepalm. "Ugh... And here I hope we could get off to a friendly start. Bisharps, punish her." The Bisharps jumped up from their chairs, and barely noticing the effects of Night Shade due to it being super ineffective against them, punched the offending slave in the belly once each. Saver grabbed her hair and whispered into her ear in an irritated tone. "You're my property now. And when property doesn't behave, it gets demolished. Which is a waste of your pretty face, so at least try to behave."

Lotus wasn't so afraid of getting punched. "Destiny Switch." she says and though she was the one that got punched Saver would be the one feeling the effects of those punchs along with his hair being pulled. "There's a reason they named me Pandora. What's inside is a terror." she says using Will-o-wisp concetrating the blue flames on his hands

Shocked by the sudden pain, Saver jumped back. "What the hell? What kind of ability is that?" He gestured to the Bisharps to stop attacking. "Listen here, you annoying little wench, either you be a good girl or I'll call the inn guards, and they'll put you down like a rabid dog." He sat down on a char and sighed. "Good grief, two years in the business and not a single normal slave. Where are they getting these crazies?"

"One where I can switch destines with someone else. Meaning I might be the one getting the beating but it's the other person who gets the effects. Which also means if they try to put me down your the one who's going to die." Lotus says backing away. She wasn't bluffing about that either but that was only if she could keep the ability up. "Now that it's in place you'll get whatever happens to me until I release it." she says hoping to scare him. She knew her tendancy to pass out after using her ability for so long but he didn't know that
